Each identification includes behavioral notes, habitat preferences, seasonal range information, and conservation status. For birders, Spotter is a fast field companion — and previously identified results are cached so you can revisit them without a connection.
For a better identification
- For birds, try to capture the whole body — beak shape, wing markings, and tail pattern are all important.
- For insects, photograph both the top and underside when possible.
- Mammal tracks and scat can also be identified — use the "Other" category.
- For fast-moving wildlife, burst mode gives you better identification photos.
