Spotter identifies snakes, lizards, turtles, skinks, and other reptiles from a single photo. The most important rule of reptile identification is to do it from a distance — never handle or corner a snake to identify it. A photo from several feet away is all Spotter needs.
Each identification includes the species, its habitat and behavior, and its regional range. Reptile results are reference information for learning and curiosity — not a substitute for caution or medical advice. If anyone is bitten, treat it as an emergency and contact medical help immediately.
For a better identification
- Always identify from a safe distance — never pick up or approach a snake to photograph it.
- Capture the overall body, pattern, and head shape if you can do so safely.
- Note the habitat and location — it strongly narrows the possible species.
- Reptile results are reference information only. For any bite, seek medical care first.
